Clayton, New Mexico is Dinosaur Country. More than 500 tracks, or traces as they are called the paleontological world, have been plotted at the site at Clayton Lake State Park.The Clayton Lake site also contains worm burrows, fossilized prints of plants and ripples in the rocks made by water filling the shallow mud flats.
Clayton is a recreational paradise, with the town doubling many times of the year for hunting seasons. We are conveniently located on Highway 87 --The Santa Fe Trail.
