NASCAR Sprint Cup Series By now most of you know that Petty Enterprises has formed a new, four-car team, Richard Petty Motorsports, by merging with the former Gillett-Evernham Motorsports. The numbers 43 and 44 are very important to the Petty family, and the history of those numbers will continue as part of this new team. Reed Sorenson will pilot the No. 43. AJ Allmendinger will be behind the wheel of the No. 44.
