When i made my reservation online I had specified that I did not want to be in the basement. I arrived on an 11 pm flight and went to the hotel. I mentioned to the clerk that to make sure I was not in the basement. She was dismissive. The desk clerk sent me down one flight of stairs and said it was not a basement. When I looked out of the window I could see the tires of the cars parked there. To me it was a basement. The room reeked of some air freshner. It was late so I did not want to go back and argue with her because she kept insisting it was not the basement. Whatever you may call it to me it was a basement.the next morning I stopped at the desk and told the clerk I did not want to be in the basement and if no room was avalable I would leave the holel. She was very personable. She moved me to another room . This room was clean and exactly what I wanted to completed my stay with two more nights. I appreciated her help.If the night clerk had taken the time to put me in different room it would not have been a problem. Having in Montana for many years I know that hotels are not sold out in the middle of january. I did not appreciate her attitude and her not bothering to make sure the guest was accomodated. The day clerk was an absolute delight. My review is being made with both clerks in mind. If it had not been for the first night incident I would have given full marks for my stay. Thank you.
