I will just start right off by saying the room was old... the hotel is old. That being said, it reminded me of traveling during my childhood. It was clean. There were no strange smells. The beds were comfy, the bathroom was clean, and the showers were hot. The staff were very friendly, helpful, kind, and always had a smile on their face. The breakfast was good, the food was hot, fresh, and coffee was great. Could have used more fresh fruit, but that's all. Breakfast area was small... only 4 tables, but it was clean and had a nice window to the pool area. (The pool was closed for the season). The room was out dated, the wall paper had some peeling spots, the TV was a tube (haha, my 7 year old thought it was ancient), but there was a fridge (clean) and microwave (also clean). Plenty of outlets. Carpet was worn, but it was clean. Mattresses were clean (my mother always checks). It was also very quiet. There were rowdy people right above us (we heard them from the outside) but we never knew it from inside the room. I laughed at the fact that the WiFi at the McDonald's right next door was a better signal than the WiFi in the hotel, be we were on the McDonald's side of the building... so I don't know what it would have been like on the other side. WiFi is WiFi... I don't care who I get it from. We were in town for a dance competition and it was exactly what we needed... a clean room with nice beds, clean shower, kind and generous staff, and decent prices...just decent though. I have to say I was a bit disappointed in the price. The cost of the room was 72/night after taxes. That is well and good, but for 10-15 dollars more, you can stay at several other hotels on the same block (literally) and get more updated rooms, indoor pools, buffet breakfasts... etc. I booked this room last minute, and because of the competition, and a baseball tournament in town, all the hotels were booked solid. I will be honest and say that I questioned the fact that this hotel was one of only two hotels in the whole town that still had rooms. I wondered what could possibly be wrong with this hotel (the other had horrible reviews). I was holding my breath as we swiped the key, hoping that the room would be okay. And it was. I'm glad there were rooms available at this Super 8. We would stay here again if we needed to, for sure. Thank you very much to the staff! « less
