“Cranbrook Super 8 with tweens”

In general, our stay was fine. The rooms were older, and a bit smaller than a hotel you might find built today. The walls were a bit thin, and thus you could hear the neighbors a bit, the bathroom a bit small with not a lot of counter space, but in general it was fine. My friend stayed there too, and she thought that the carpets should have been cleaner, and she found hair in her room tub? floor? not sure, but it was fine for the price. My kids really liked the slide, pool, and hot tub. Would I go back? Sure, because I went for the water slide and the price. One thing I found a bit funny was that the parking lot was icy. This wasn't an issue for us, but could be for older people. I would expect a hotel to be totally up on snow and ice removal, but maybe this wasn't possible given the timing of the snow fall/clearing/melting cycle etc.One thing that drives me nuts about all of these hotel breakfasts is that they are very carbohydrate heavy, with very little protein. They all offer all kinds of wheat products and sugary cereals, but not much in the way of anything else except for eggs.
