“Okay if you are blind and Drunk”

It was a last minute booking during the Hopland wine tour. Only one room left and it was a room "that allows smoking". we aren't sure if that was obvious when we booked but it was written on our print out after we paid on line. Our late arrival gave us even less options to see if there were other alternatives in the area once we realized we'd be in a "smoking" room.he room offered freeway in stereo especially since we had to open the windows to try and air out the heavy stale odor of cigarettes. Even with the window open all night we both felt our lungs burning from the residual baked in chemfest. The bed sheets were very sloppy as if it had been made quickly and perhaps not changed or at least it felt that way. The little refrigerator was extremely noisy but I was too tired to get up and unplug it til I could not take it anymore along with drunk cussing outside that prompted me to get up and shut the window about 4 am and the plug got pulled at the same time. In the morning while showering and in the real light I noticed how really filthy our room was. There was also only one hand towel, 2 small bath towels and 3 wash rags..(strange math for 2.) The toilet had that strip of paper around the lid and seat but the inside bowl needed a brush and cleaner taken to it.. Now, I am no princess but I do contract out my services to clean vacation rentals and could not help to leave an suggestion note behind which simply stated that they needed to pull out the furniture and give the place a good vacuum and make some effort to get the smell out of the room.We did go to the office in the morning for our "continental breakfast. It was as skimpy as one could conjure but what struck me is how nice and expensive the curtains and landscaping are..If they put half the landscaping money into cleanliness, it would help but not me or my husband as we will not stay at a super 8 again.
