“Don't really want to use Motel 8 again but probably will.”

  , Newburgh
First off I am a truck driver and usually when I go to Motel 8 it is because my truck broke down and is in the repair shop. So especially with major repairs I will be there for 2 or more days. As a result I usually have a number of things (valuables) that I always have on the truck with me when I am on the road that would not be safe to leave on the truck while it is in the shop. So along with the obvious items that I will bring with me on the truck, I may have several more items with me. Then I check in at the desk with all this stuff and seem to always get a room at the furthest point from the office on the third floor. When I ask if they have a cart or something the answer is always no. And of course, no one can help me. Then I get to the room and it takes several attempts to get the key card to open the door for me. After several trips back and forth to get all my stuff up to the room I then attempt to stick the stuff in the fridge from my trucks fridge so my food will not go bad and my drinks stay cold. It is at this time that I discover the fridge is turned up all the way but is barely cool, never-mind cold. I could go on from there and bore us both to death but let's just say that this is not my first experience like this at a Motel 8. This is very disappointing since the first 3 times I stayed at a Motel 8 they were rather pleasant experiences. Since then things see,m to keep going down hill. My guess is that no one ever checks all the items in the motel rooms from time to time to make sure that everything is working properly. Suffice it to say that things were so bad in that room the first night that I had to ask for another room the next morning before I paid for another day and was given another room and no help moving or a cart to move with. Time to start looking else where for a place to stay when my truck breaks down.
