“No compliance to concern...”

My new job is reliant on using the internet. Upon check-in, I proceeded to connect to the hotel's WiFi and had a faint signal that froze my use of the web continuously. I called the front desk and asked if there was a problem and if not, can I be relocated to another room to get a better signal. I was told nothing was wrong and they were getting a signal in the lobby, and 'no'...relocating would not be an option. I was told it was my computer or too many other guests on the system at the same time. I struggled to ck out my computer, even calling HP for service help and was told it was the WiFi connection. The next day while walking the elevator to go to the front desk, I talked to a man who came out of a room. I asked him if he was using the internet and before I even told him why I was inquiring, he said...'I gave up trying to use the internet a long time ago. I've been coming here for a long time and I've never been able to hook it up!' I was stunned! ...I asked him if he would come to the office with me after telling him my issues and he gladly agreed. We approached the manager and the front desk team and I proceeded to tell them I was angry, because I had asked for help and obviously they had a chronic problem for a long time and it was not ok to falsely advertise that they had 'free internet' if they did not, and if there is a problem, they needed to fix it. The manager insisted that they had never had a problem before or ever, at which time the man with me piped in and said...'That is NOT true. I've stayed here for a long time. You know me. I asked for help a few times and the situation never was handled for me either.' To this, the man behind the counter held up his cell phone and said that a cable maintenance person was on his way. I was never contacted to let me know if anything was handled or resolved at all. The next day I was smugly told that it was never their problem, they had no trouble down stairs, and nothing needed to be done, my computer was the problem, not their WiFi. I called the corporate office of Super 8, I was told the hotels were individually owned and operated, and I would have to work it out with them to get a discounted rate or to work out leaving to go to another location. I received a $50 rebate from corporate, but the owners of my location declined to help me to relocate. I lost my first work assignment with my new employers. I will never go back to Super 8 on W. Sepulveda Blvd. in Torrance, CA.
