“Nice place ruined by a loud party”

  , Villa Park, Il
I stayed here for one night and found it to be a nice place. Price was good ($42 + tax with coupon from http://www.mwtravelbuddy.com/ ). My room (207) was clean and appears to have been recently renovated. Elevator is now working. Towels and sheets were in good shape, though pillows were very flat and in need of replacement. Bed was otherwise comfortable. My major issue was with how the guy at the front desk handled a loud party of college-aged kids across the hall. Saw this group early in the evening but thought nothing of it as they left the hotel around 9pm. They were very loud and woke me up when they returned at 1:45am (closing time at the local bars?) and commenced to party. Front desk guy came up to ask those who weren't registered to leave the room. He then rented rooms to those who were "kicked out" and they returned to join the party! Seems it was more important to make the money off of additional rooms than to provide peace and quiet for his existing customers who were trying to sleep. At 4am I had enough with the slamming doors and loud voices (in the hall and the room) and called the front desk. IMHO, those who were not originally registered should have been kicked out, not allowed to rent rooms and continue the party. I told this to the front desk guy when we checked out - he gave us a half-hearted apology and said something about them being drunk. NOT OUR PROBLEM, but the desk guy's actions made it our problem! I told him his apology did not make up for lost sleep. Another customer in the lobby said the party kept him awake too. Time to revise their policies on loud parties!
