“too expensive for a shabby average motel”

  , Hamilton
OK motel in an OK part of town. Staff is friendly enough, and they leave you alone. 2 queen room is large enough, but the layout of putting the desk in the middle is hard to walk around if someone is sitting there. The shower had inconsistent water pressure, and the shower nozzle did not adjust well, but was plenty hot enough. The breakfast offered average foods, and nothing hot except frozen waffles or oatmeal, although the small yogurts were a very nice touch. I thought the coffee tasted terrible, but that is just my opinion. The overall ambiance is shabby (small rips in bedspreads, doors that need to be replaced on the 2nd floor, and you could hear the water running in the walls when someone in another room was showering), so we felt the price for the room was too expensive for such an unremarkable motel experience. We come through Billings every 3 weeks, and have stayed in most of the motels in that area. We expected an OK experience, just not quite so shabby, and better breakfast. [Example: Days Inn is right next door, and even though their rooms are 2 doubles instead of 2 queens, they are pretty much the same price: their room layout is more manageable, they offer biscuits and gravy for breakfast with decent coffee, and have a hot tub. Just saying...] We probably will not stay in this motel again, unless they update and/or lower their prices.
