“Never again”

  , Bowling Green
My room turned out to be a smoking room, which was expedia's fault. However, the rest was definitely you folks. The fridge smelled of rotten food. The cable cut in and out on every channel. The toilet required 2-3 flushes each time. The breakfast was pathetic. I've stayed in hotels of this sort before but this was easily the worst for the next reason: As I was leaving the hotel, I was about to turn the corner into the lobby area when I heard the racist old woman at the desk talking about the president with a customer. She made comments about how black folks are the reason he got elected, that she doesn't think anyone who voted for him works for a living, and that this country is ruined for the fact that he is still president. I voted for him, and I contribute far more to this country's GDP than she does for sure. I'm not someone who thinks everyone has to agree with me politically, but this is America and we live in the 21st century. I should be able to expect that people won't engage in such casual bigotry while on the job. If it hadn't been for the football game at University of Iowa, I would have been able to leave and get a room somewhere else and would have done so.
