“Great value for the price; convenient for an early start toward Yosemite”

This Super 8 is a cut above others. Everything promised on the website actually exists in the hotel!... something I've found misrepresented at other budget hotels. The continental breakfast was a nice perk, even if the selection is pretty limited. Juice & coffee in the morning are always nice.I got a Discount here by booking through a Rewards Club, so that made the value even greater. There was a nice-looking pool (which we didn't use) that they clearly keep clean, the room had a coffee maker, mini-fridge and microwave (which I didn't have to pay extra for), and parking was convenient to the rooms. There is a Perko's (similar to Denny's) next door for convenient coffee shop dining. Also, the motel is directly off of Route 99, making it very easy to find. The few downsides would be: 1. a slightly bare-bones breakfast, but that's not really a complaint, as I'm glad to get any kind of morning refreshment included. 2. A couple of the lamps in our room seemed to have wiring problems and would flicker on & off, so we just turned them off; and 3. Some kind of truck-dispatching facility is just past the motel's property behind some trees, and we did hear them making loudspeaker announcements pretty early in the morning, though it was not disruptive, just unexpected. We chose Madera since we were approaching Yosemite from the Central Coast (Route 152) and wanted to enter via Wawona on Route 41, and Madera put us only 80 minutes' drive from that entrance for an early start. We would stay here again!
