“Wouldn't Take Much To Improve”

Bathroom was filthy is by far the biggest complaint. There was some sort of brown splash residue on the white door, probably a soda but still disconcerting. None of the three of us chose to use the shower, instead opting to make the return trip home smelling like the bar from the night before due to the filth of the bathoom. The toilet paper roll hadn't even bothered to be changed when it was down to its last four sheets, not a big deal but just shows a lack of care. The room door did not shut well, Room 107 if I recall. The girl at the desk quoted me $10 more for having extra people which I paid without complaint. I then made a quick trip to the lobby restroom and upon coming out was informed I needed to pay another 10 because it would be four instead of three (I had told her four when checking in). Whether or not this is the correct policy the proper thing to do would be to give me an accurate quote or let it go, but I chalked it up as a minor annoyance. The next morning our door was knocked on four times starting at 8:30 by the man I assume to be the manager to check if we'd left yet. I found this extremely irritating. All in all I would rather pay the extra $40 to stay at the Best Western next time as none of these issues have occurred in one of my stays with their chain.As my title states, it wouldn't take much to improve the place. Clean the bathroom, change the toilet paper. Make sure the employees are informed on proper rates or that if they give an incorrect one the hotel eats it rather than customer being harassed. Would have slept great if we hadn't been continually bothered with knocks on the door to check if we were still there. The guy could have at least waited until 10 to start or not bothered us until we left once he established we were there the first knock at 8:30, which was still too early for a Sunday after a city wide festival.We also chose to ignore the breakfast given the dirtiness of the bathroom. It lead to doubts about the kitchen and staff.
