“We were in Morden for a hockey tournament. We blocked 25...”

We were in Morden for a hockey tournament. We blocked 25 rooms to accomodate our 2 teams that were to be in the area. 2 weeks after our block was made, people calling in were told that we were out of rooms. We called in and asked for a copy of the names of people booked in our block and only 18 of "our" families had rooms and the rest of our block was full of other team players. When we questioned this we were told they said they were with us. In conversation with the other teams over the weekend, they were told the same thing. Some people over the weekend that had rooms arrived only to find out that they were "wrong" and confirmation number was "not theirs" even though they booked with their team. We had a huge struggle to find accomodations for our remaining 7 families. We tried numerous times to talk to manager and owner but they were rude, unhelpful and told us the entire problem was our fault. We didn't take the reservations, our people had the exact block name and gave it. After experiencing the weekend we realize they are full of long stay patrons, so obviously overbooked themselves.Our own room was not cleaned and when I went to front desk to get clean towels I got 4 face towels as they said that was all they had. Breakfast was horrid. They knew they were full and yet patrons were having to rifle through cupboards to refill. Basically it was toast or bagels. Front desk girl was too busy texting to accomodate needs. Long stay patrons had breakfast at 5 so by 9, selection was very picked over at best.Through hockey, we stay at hotels 15 weekends a year across Canada and I can honestly say the Morden Super 8 experience was the worst.
