“Honest Feedback”

Based on the website information my expectation was of a nice hotel, clean and affordable. What I found was an affordable price and an old, dirty outdated space that looked very neglected. the bedspread had cigarette burn holes in it, the walls were stained, the covers came off the mattress a bit and revealed utterly gross stains that made me consider checking out and getting a refund however no other rooms were available in the region. The ice machine (only one in the entire hotel) was broken and no offer of options from staff. When we checked out we waited in the lobby for nearly 20 minutes with other guest ringing the bell and searching for an employee with the other guests. Everyone was joking about the experience and making fun of "Travelodge". It turned out that one one person is on staff and she was outside picking up trash in the parking lot. A remark by a guest that stayed there before was that the employees often have to run the front desk and clean / prep rooms at the same time. I don't think there was a problem with the staff on duty as much as the conditions set in place by management or ownership. A ripped and torn banner on the side of the building "Welcomed" us to the property. The signage at the road said "Super 8" so obviously there is some sort of transition going on here but if this is now part of the "Wyndham Group" of properties it is stained, literally, the name of the brand. Needless to say I will avoid Travelodges and Wyndhan properties based on this stay. I normally stay at Hampton Inns and find them to be quite consistent. Clean, updated and fresh with good food options for the morning. This stay was dirty, old / outdated with extremely limited / undesirable food options. The milk was in a small refrigerator on the floor with a pencil drawn sign taped to the door that said "Milk and water" Inside was an empty jug of milk and an open top pitcher of tap water. I could go on but I think you get the picture.
