“Dont Use the Hot Tub!”

  , Clio
I spent one night in this hotel. I was happy that I had remembered to bring my favorite swim suit because I was looking forward to enjoying the hot tub. I spent 15 minutes or less in the water and when I emerged, my pure white cotton crotcheted swimsuit was YELLOW- a definite sickining yellow. I asked the desk staff what kind of chemicals were used in the tub as that suit was a favorite of mine and had been in my hot tub many times, lakes, rivers and various pools. The manager assured me that the tub had only bromine in it. This I can not believe, as I brominate my spa. They did offer to bleach the suit for me, but it did not help. They said they washed it with bleach twice. The night clerk could not argiue that it wasnt thier hot tub as she saw me in the suit on my way to the pool area. It was PURE WHITE before that dip.I was given 'corporates' phone number and told to call them. I asked the staff to please contact them and tell them the situation from their end. The said, yes, of course they would. No one was attempting to say they disbelieved me, they were just not willing to take responsibility for ruining a very exspensive, but most importantly a favorite item of my wardrobe. On a second phone call to the hotel I asked the manager if he had informed 'corporate' and he said no, not yet. I asked him again to do so, and to please have someone who could help call me.. I have not heard a thing. I think at the very least, I should have been comped my room. It was no where near the value of the damage, but would have made a huge difference in my attitude and opinion of their problem solving abilities. I took a sample of the water and it is currently being tested. I am hoping to find out what it is that discolored the suit. I am still hoping to save it.To be fair, the room was very comfortable and nice, but I would have been further ahead to have stayed somewhere else
