“Extra Rapey.”

  , Sahuarita
We were planning on getting in late and checking out early, so I didn't want to spend the extra money on a hotel that we would be at for only a few hours. Being that it was a Super 8, I didn't have much in the way of expectations. But this place was terrible. The exterior doors remain unlocked all night. This was a little disturbing but I figured no big deal, there will be dead locks on the door. Well, that was not true. When we got into the room and tried to lock the door, the normal lock was fine, but the security lock was barely hanging on. It took two times trying to open the door for the latch to fail. And we didn't have to push very hard. The hotel smelled terrible, the carpets need to be ripped up and burned. There are cracks in the walls in the hallway and the rooms. The bathrooms were growing bits of mold and I don't think that housekeeping understands that they are supposed to use some type of cleaning product. They also advertise lakeside breakfast. The only way you are getting a lakeside breakfast is if you take your stale muffin to the parking lot around the backside of the building. And when they say that breakfast goes till 9am they mean it. The coffee is dumped at 5 till. I know that a Super 8 is not going to be a luxury suite and we were not expecting it, but I really didn't expect to wonder if the local rapists hung out around the motel hoping to get into the rooms that had a busted lock. So even if your going to be there for just a few hours, fork out the extra $70 and stay next door at the Hampton Inn and Suites.
