“Disgusting”

  , West Milford
We were given a smoking room even though we ordered a non-smoking room. Three other guests complained of the exact same thing right there while we were checking in. All of us were told they couldn't change our rooms. When we walked in the door the room REEKED and there was little bits of food and dirt on the floor from the people before us. The bathroom counter was completely cracked in half. I wiped the steam off the bathroom mirror with a towel when I got out of the shower and it was brown with nicotine! (And btw, no hot water). The smoke from the neighboring room seeped through the walls! The building itself is in a sketchy neighborhood with what looks like a crack house right across the street. Some of the guests appear to be residents. The lobby is exactly as it probably once was circa 1965. A child of about 9 or 10 was working the front desk alone as we checked out! I wish I was making this up but it is all true. We only stayed here because all the big casino hotels were booked. We figured how bad could it be for $300 a night? The scariest hotel experience!
