I requested a room on first floor due to being handicapped when I arrived the man at counter was extremely rude with me I have stayed at the hotel every week for two to three nights a week for three months and the same gentleman has waited on me when I check in at night. He told me several lies and upset me. He first told me that he has no control on rooms on first floor and that there are no non smoking rooms on first floor. When I explained to him that I stay in the hotel regularly he seemed to take offense when I told him that he was lieing to me. The woman in front of me in line was also told that she could not get a first floor room even tho she was also handicapped and that the person who we schedualed our rooms online with has no idea of first floor or second floor and does not contact hotel directly to ask them if first floor is available. When I insisted that he was lieing he threw my credit card at me and it fell on floor in front of other customers which upset them as well. I told him that I have no choice and have to have a room and I would deal with it he took card and processed the paperwork. The customers that came in after me decided on going to different hotel. I do not know why there is a communication gap between online schedualers or hotel in general and I do not care this gentleman is rude and obnoxious and If I was twenty years younger I would have pulled him across counter and broke his nose. I am older and handicapped now so I have learned to control myself. I do not think this man is professional and needs an attitude adjustment. He has to be told that there is competition for his job. He should also be worried that his attitude could find him in a bad situation if he finds someone that does break his nose. So I took the room keys I went to second floor after making several trips back and forth due to my disabilities to a room that smelled like cigarettes covered by perfume so strong that it gave me a headache. I am not happy at all. I spend close to 100 dollars a week to be treated this way. I am a disabled veteran of dessert storm a district MGR salesman who travels all over Ohio and I stay at many super 8 hotels and this hotel in Columbus needs a restructure of desk personell
