Booked a room after an online search and was disappointed when we arrived. It was no where near any restaurants although there was a hotdog/burger joint across the street next to the Kum and Go. The area looked to be quite depressed and shabby. The parking lot was very small and not really built to accomodate a 3/4 ton pick up truck. Built more for small or mid size cars unless you wanted to park in the back. Reserved a room with a king bed at the end of the building next to the dog walking area and was put in a room with 2 queen sized beds a ways away [although the king room was available, not sure why we were given a different one and we chose not to move since we had already unloaded everything.] Had an additional problem discovered upon return home when I realized my husband had paid for the room and they charged us about $25.00 more than what was quoted. I called them and would have been willing to let things go until I was accused of not reporting to them we had 2 dogs at the time of the reservation, however I had. If I had been approched differently when I called I would have let it go and considered it a mistake, but I didnt appreciate the insinuation that I had lied, and they were not willing to accept that perhaps the person taking the reservation made a mistake. That said, they did agree to reimburse us the difference. I have to say the bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on, and I have muscle/joint/nerve issues so that is saying something. We didnt have the room cleaned because I dont like people coming in and out when I am in a hotel. Additionally, the temperature reached 87 degrees in March, and the a/c wasnt the best, but Im sure it had not been prepped for use in the middle of winter. The tub appeared to be a new insert and it was large and comfortable. The hotel was listed as pet friendly and I believe my dogs may have barked while I was at a funeral service, but we gave the staff cell numbers in the event we needed to be reached and they were accomodating in that aspect. We received no call although when we checked we were told they had barked, but it was the middle of the day and no one was really around for them to bother. « less
