I have stayed at super 8 hotels frequently as an economical solution to on-the-road overnights for many years. The stay in Grand Junction on Jan. 18th may have ended my long run of good luck with this choice of hotel solutions.Entering the 3rd floor room at 8pm or so was like walking into an oven. By 10pm when we were still roasting with the window open (0 degrees outside) I called the front desk and the none-to-helpful woman stated that they were pre-heating rooms for possible arrivals. I told her that it was way over-heated to no satisfaction. At 1pm when we were running the air-conditioner and had window open and getting very mad about the huge and ridiculous energy waste that goes on like this in our world I called again and the man at desk said he would turn some rooms down. Never heard anyone opening doors to do this but by this time that whole place had to be too overheated to make much difference. Sure glad I was past my hot-flash phase of life or I may have been dangerous. Didn't sleep much, won't try to at a super 8 again.
