“5-Day Stay at Super 8 in Pierre, SD”

Hello, thank you for sending this survey to us. My wife and I reserved a 5-day stay at Super 8 in Pierre,SD. Right from the beginning the television did not work properly - there was poor channel and volume control and also a clicking noise when the tv would go on and off by itself. It continued until we went to bed. When we did go to sleep, the tv kept turning on until we unplugged it completely. My wife went to speak with the front desk, waited for Arun but she was busy with other customers. It would have been "customer friendly" to acknowledge my waiting or have more than one CSR helping out. The microwave did not work and we had to switch out plugs and outlets. When we got the microwave to finally work, my wife had lost her appetite and then the coffeemaker did not work the following morning. The light switch was turned in the upright position so electricity should have been going through and connecting. Again I tried to discuss this with someone at the front desk but they were too busy. For some reason our room wasn't cleaned on Thursesday, 10/25 so there were soiled towels, garbage and vacuuming that should have been done that day - we are fine without the sheets being changed daily. When we came back from hunting the second day on 10/26 to a still uncleaned room both my wife and I went to discuss this issue. We were told that we should have contacted (not sure of the name) about the towels not being changed or the electrical outlets malfunctioning! We thought this was the duty of the General Manager to handle issues and resolve them for the customer who is paying to stay for five days at Super 8! There was someone w After we left from our first and last stay at Super 8 we noticed that we were also charged for a "safe charge" that we were not made aware of. I believe it is in the Accommodations industry best interest to fix or evaluate a current situation or issue, apologize and make the situation right to keep the customer happy. A negative recommendation will only come back to you tenfold, whereas a positive attitude with perhaps a discount, apology and a means to fix these situations would have been appropriate, proper and should have been handled immediately. A positive outcome would also have been communicated to our friends and family for a recommendation about the great stay we would of had at Super 8, but unfortunately not in this case.
