“Very Disappointed in Professionalism of Employees”

My husband & I come to your hotel to just get away from everyday life & our 3 children, as well enjoy the jacuzzi. We reserved a smoking room with a King bed. Upon arrival we were told we had been booked in a non smoking room with a Queen bed. Since we had driven an hour we decided we'd just make the best of it. Upon getting to the room we seen there were ashtrays in the room so I decided to call the lobby & ask if we were in a smoking room. The lady stated that since there were ashtrays in the room that it must be a smoking room & it just must not have been updated in the system yet. We never got to enjoy the jacuzzi because it would not heat up and 2 jets were not working! And of course when we called to see if it could be fixed we were told that we needed to read the instructions, which was very insulting as my Husband has his Masters in Engenering & I am High school English teacher! Also we were told there was nobody there to fix it at night. So after just lying in bed watching the small tv (which we could've done at home) we went to sleep. Wake up the next morning & went to check out. We decided to tell the lady (who happened to be the manager) about the smoking issue as in our contract it stated we'd be charged a $200 cleaning fee, so I just wanted to ensure that since we'd spoke to the lady the night before there wouldn't be a charge for it. The manager got very upset, told us that she would have to fire the lady who told us that, made us feel bad, asked us why we didn't just get the room right above us because it was a smoking room w/a King bed (Like we were supposed to know that!) and was just EXTREMELY rude to us! I was horrified & very upset! WE WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN UNLESS ITS COMPLIMENTARY! I feel we should have be given a discount or a night in which we could enjoy the jacuzzi without being made to feel like misfits!
