“B day trip to SLC”

  , Las Vegas
Got in and the room I was given for my family and I already had someone in it as we went upstairs. Once at the room I put my key in and low and behold someone comes to the door and yes can I help you. Well from that point on I knew it would be one of those trips. Once in another room after shear embarrassment, we went to sleep after a 7 hour drive into SLC. The 2nd night my wife wakes me up saying the toilet will not stop running and is over flowing. Great, now we have a defective toilet and the carpet got wet causing an extremely smelly room. Did we get moved, no, just a few towels to soak up the water. The front desk guy was not sure how to handle such an emergency, looked for us for answers. Not sure if a maintance person is on staff over night, but should be for issues as such. The main problem was the toilet would not shut off and was not flushing properly. You had to hold the handle down and empty the tank for the bowl to flush, if not oops a problem would become an issue. The next morning, my wife and son went down for breakfast at around 830 am and there were nowhere to sit. Even the couches in the lobby were being used for people to eat breakfast at. Not sure if more seating for the breakfast bar would help, but it may especially on weekends. Not the greatest trip to SLC we have had, main reason the hotel was just terrible. We will continue to use Marriotts Fairfield Inn for our family trips to SLC. TDR
