“I'm Not Sure I've EVER had a Worse Hotel Experience In my Life”

  , Taylor
I booked my room on Priceline. When I called to verify my reservations with the desk clerk, as soon as he saw I had booked with Priceline, he became cold and rude. I was told that he was booking a 1st floor room for me. When I got to the hotel, my friends went to check in. There was no one at the front desk. They waited. And waited. FIfteen minutes later, a clerk showed up who told them there was only 1 room left and it was on the third floor--and there was NO ELEVATOR. How is this ADA compliable?? I am not sure how a place like this can be in business. I have osteo-arthritis in my knees and do not climb stairs well. So I called the front desk to speak with the clerk myself. I told her that the day clerk, Kevin and reserved a 1st floor room for me. She said Kevin had no right to do that. When she told me that the hotel was booked, I told her that the parking lot had about 20 cars in it. SHe told me not to tell her how to do her job. Finally, she found a room on the second floor. Again, no elevator. How is this ADA and legal?I cannot emphasize enough regarding the rudeness of the night desk clerk. She lied, she mimicked me, she had no regard for our needs and she left the front desk unoccupied for over 15 minutes. If I were running this hotel, that work ethic would NOT be tolerated. The room was shabby, carpet unswept, smell of smoke and alcohol, the blankets were threadbare. The bathroom was musty and dirty and there was one washcloth and one towel. Also 1/3 of a roll of toilet paper. The TV cable was disconnected, the phone did not work and only one light worked. Basically, this experience was intolerable. I am very displeased and do not feel as though I should have to pay for this.
