“feral cats? Water Heater? Regular Heater?”

  , Seattle
So I needed a hotel room for my Ice climbing trip to Utah. So I chose the Ogden Super 8, as it was the cheapest option in the area. I knew what I was getting myself into, but holy cow, this was quite something. I arrive at my room, and it's colder in my room than it is outside... I turn the heater on, it smells sort of like old socks, sweaty hair, and cat urine... I leave to go have a drink. I come back, and the smell has subsided a little... I think I just got used to it. So I go climbing early the next morning, and get back ready for a good hot shower. I turn on the water, Cold. I leave it running for a couple of minutes... COLD. I then call the front desk and say "my hot water is not working" "What room are you in?""227""Oh, you are at the end of the building, run the water for 8 minutes and it will be hot"I thought he was joking, because it was a super 8. Then I tell him that my tub is not draining properly, and I can't run the tub for 8 minutes without having to step into cold water. His response: "run the sink for 8 minutes, same pipe"WOW.I let it go. I only had one more night there.. I go out for dinner, and as I am walking to my car, I see a kitten, So I watch it as it runs away from the trash it is digging through and jumps into a broken vent that leads into the basement of the Super 8. Upon watching it for a second, I realize that there is in fact an entire colony of FERAL CATS LIVING IN THE BASEMENT OF THE SUPER 8.LASTLY -- a bunch of the TV channels had no volume. Which was a bummer, as it was generally the content I Wanted to watch.Long story short, I don't think it was worth the $128 for 2 nights.I WILL NEVER STAY AT A SUPER 8 AGAIN.
