Stopped here on our way to NC from the DC Area, because it was 1/2 way from our destination. The staff at the desk was very friendly and efficient. The room, however, was gross. The light switch had some kind of dried, brown gunk on them. The light fixtures looked as if they had some water damage. The top of the TV was covered with some kind of dried muck. The heating unit was modern, but it was also disgustingly covered with grime and struggled to keep the room at temperature. The room had an odd smell to it. I was traveling with my 4 year old daughter and was really reluctant to let her touch anything, including the bed. The beds were shot. The springs were gone, the frame had no stability to it. The comforter on my bed had some kind of awful brown stain on it. Looked like the sheets had never been changed.The bathroom was clean(er), but again I didn't let my daughter in it unless it was necessary. The shower head was covered with lime and scum. I barely slept, because of the heater and the fear that my daughter and I were going to leave with some kind of disease. I walked past the breakfast room, which looked like an old break room, and given the state of the room we opted to get breakfast some place else. I've stayed at Super 8's in the past all over the country, and while basic, they have always been clean and inviting. Maybe this is the edge case. Had I not been so tired, I would have demanded a refund and gone elsewhere.I'll never stop at this one again, and will certainly think twice before using Super 8 in the future. « less
