“Super 8 stay in La Crosse, WI”

This staty started with a mix up on our reservation to us given a very dirty room. It was not a very good stay. The only redeeming part of our stay was a nice pool. The Continental breakfast was mediocre at best - could have used boiled eggs to go with all the starches offered. I can put up with mistakes, but the customer service by the desk staff was unacceptable. They put the blame on us for not following up on our reservation before coming. When I told them about the room, the one desk clerk came up and sprayed the room and told me it did not smell, she was just doing it to appease me. The ice machine our floor had mold in it, they did clean the glaring noticeable mold, but I suspect they did not take the machine apart to clean the shoot and above. We were never given the option to get another room, but that was what I was told I should have asked for when I checked out. We reserved a ground floor room with access to electricity and to see our boat. They put us on the second floor completely out of eyesight of our boat. I don't understand why we did not get the type of room we requested when we made the reservation in March. I was told they could not do this for us and that I was responsible for following up with them prior to our stay. One final note, the bed was terribly uncomfortable and also the pillows. Also, there was a very noticeable stain on the side of the bed from a male donor. It is ironic that on the marquee they boasted the fact that they just put in new flat screen TV's - a clean room and better customer service is more important.
