“Very Poor”

We had stayed at the Super 8 Verona in early Jan 2012 and enjoyed the hotel enough that I booked 3 rooms for 3 nights for another stay in January 2013. The week prior to our stay I received a call from the hotel wondering if I would be staying that evening. I said no, my reservation was for the next week. They informed me they did not have my reservation even though I had a confirmation number. They said there was nothing with that number or my pesonal information on file for those rooms and something must have gone wrong with the reservation system. For the next 20 minutes I was given excuses or was basically told by the manager that I was making up the reservation. There was no effort to try to empathize or make some sort of accommodation. With few other convenient choices, I recluctantly booked what was left for room offerings - one room for three nights and one room for one night - about a third of the room nights I had reserved. I asked for the owner's email to which I sent a description of what happened. It's now almost 3 weeks later and I have not received a response to my requests. In a business that demands prompt and courteous customer service, this place strikes out. For those of you who want to stay here I would tell you this. In the 4 days we were there, we left the rooms keys in the room twice. The first time I walked to the front desk, asked for a duplicate key for room 113 and was given a key without any request for my name or an ID. I had not met the person at the front desk nor did they know who I was. Wow. The second time it happened, my son made the same request, which was granted, with no ask for name or ID....!.... I could not believe it. Absolutely no regard for anyone's well-being or security. Accommodating, yes. But what kind of place does this twice? Imagine someone asking for and receiving a key to someone else's room. No staff awareness, no protocol. Unbelievable.
